TMJ Replacements

*Not commercially available in the U.S.

The TMJ prosthesis is patient-specific according to the pathology of the patient. This solution is recommended for the correction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) defects, providing immediate function.

The solution includes

Techfit Digital Surgery provides the mandibular and maxillary cutting guides  required to perform the surgery according to the case planning.

Glenoid fossa component: The implant would consist of a titanium assembly and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW). The fixation would be done with 2.0mm screws and a minimum of 4 screws would be required.

Condylar component: The implant would consist of a titanium alloy (TI6Al4V). The fixation would be done with 2.5mm screws to the mandible and minimum 4 screws would be required.

Custom-made Plates

Reconstruction with bone graft

This solution is recommended for reconstruction after a traumatic, post-traumatic or oncological resections. A variety of free flaps can be planned including Fibula, scapular, rib or

iliac crest free flaps.

Superostial implant

The titanium implant framework rests directly on top of the bone, underlying the periosteum, and provides attachment posts, which extend through the gingival tissue for prosthesis anchorage.

Orthognathic custom-plates

This solution is recommended to have controlled outcomes in orthognathic surgery. The custom plates allow for precise spatial positioning of the osteotomized jaw in the orthognathic surgery

The solution includes

  1. Detailed virtual surgical digital planning of the specific case for the patient, where the location and length of the screws are suggested for fixation.

  2. Complete custom anatomical titanium plates or independent titanium mini plates are tailored to the surgical planning. The thickness of the plates can be low profile at 1.6mm or lower depending on the discretion of the surgeon. Fixation of these plates is done with 2.0mm or 2.5mm screws, which are included.

  3. Anatomic 3D printed models, surgical cutting guides for mandibular and/or maxillary resection, surgical cutting guides for the fibula graft.

Custom-made
facial Implants

*Not commercially available in the U.S.

This solution is recommended for the correction of defects due to illness, trauma, or aesthetics that have cosmetic and functional effects on patients.

Spacers are recommended when a first surgical procedure is needed to prepare the TMJ and mandibular ramus areas.

These implants are manufactured with Polyether ether (PEEK) or Titanium (3d printed or machined)

The fixation of the implants is done with 1.5mm or 2.0mm screws.

Midface reconstruction

Looking for an aesthetic outcome and restoration of the facial symmetry, custom made implants are recommended to reconstruct the midface area

The solution includes

  1. Detailed digital surgical planning of the specific case for the patient, where the location and length of the screws are suggested for fixation.

  2. Computer-designed patient-specific implants â€‹

  3. Anatomical 3D printed models, surgical cutting guides for mandibular and/or maxillary resection when needed.

Reconstruction with custom crib implants

This plate is considered a prosthetic replacement since no type of flap or graft is used to restore bone continuity.

*Not commercially available in the U.S.

Orthognathic
Planning
SOLUTIONS TECHFIT-27.jpg

This solution is recommended to plan surgeries for the corrections of the maxilla and mandible.

They can be monoaxially or bimaxillary surgeries. 3D digital Planning of Orthognathic Surgery would be conducted in order to create a custom occlusion splint. For a bimaxillary surgery, an intermediate splint and final splint would also be designed to help with proper placement of the maxilla and mandible.

The solution can be offered (for a different price) with 3D printed or machined custom-made anatomical plates.
